Droblets Oy is the controller for personal data processed in the GrindMate app.

1. What personal data we process
GrindMate creates a user account that is linked to a unique sign in identifier.

A unique sign in identifier from Google Sign In or Apple Sign In
An internal user ID in GrindMate
A display name or similar profile field if you choose to use it
Profile photo
A profile photo
This can be your sign in service profile photo or a photo you upload in GrindMate.
We do not perform face recognition and we do not use photos for biometric identification.
User settings
Your personal settings, including coffee related settings “brews” and other user specific preferences
Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand app usage and improve GrindMate
Analytics is enabled by default.
2. Why we process this data
We process personal data to make GrindMate work as intended.
To sign you in and keep the same account in use across sessions and devices
To show your profile and profile photo
To store your personal settings and coffee related preferences such as brews
To understand how the app is used and to improve the product through analytics
3. Legal basis
Account creation, sign in and storing your settings: performance of the service you use in the app
Analytics: legitimate interests (GDPR Art 6(1)(f)) to understand how GrindMate is used and to improve and maintain the app.
4. Where the data comes from
Sign in identifiers come from Google or Apple during sign in
Profile photos come from your sign in service profile or from you if you upload a photo
Settings and Brews come from your own actions and choices in the app
Analytics data is generated by app usage events
GrindMate relies on service providers that are necessary to run the app. These providers process data only to provide their services to us.
Processors / service providers used for GrindMate
Hosting (virtual server): Microsoft Azure (virtual machine)
Analytics: Firebase Analytics (Google Firebase)
Sign in: Google Sign In, Apple Sign In, Facebook Authentication
Service providers may use their own sub processors as part of delivering the service.
Google and Apple provide the sign in method. They process your data under their own terms and privacy policies.
5. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal data.
We do not share your personal data with third parties for their marketing.
GrindMate relies on service providers that are necessary to run the app, such as hosting and analytics. These providers process data only to provide their services to us.

6. Retention and deletion
Account data and settings are stored while your account is active
If you delete your account, we delete the related account data, profile photo and settings within a reasonable time
Some technical delays can exist before deletions are fully reflected everywhere, for example due to system recovery processes
7. Your rights and how to use them
You can:
View and edit your profile and settings in the app
Change your profile photo
Delete your account using the Delete Account button
You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, including processing for analytics, unless we have compelling legitimate grounds.
You have the right to request restriction of processing in certain situations.
You have the right to data portability for personal data you have provided to us, where the processing is based on a contract and carried out by automated means. We will provide this data upon request through our request process.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
You have the right to request confirmation of processing and a copy of your personal data. We handle these requests through a simple request process.

We may ask you to confirm account ownership before we share account data.
8. Age limit
GrindMate is 13+. By using the app you confirm that you are at least 13 years old.
